Meet our staff

Pastor Kurt Overway is sailor at heart, and a fan of his 4 grandsons as well! He loves teaching, and leading bible study, as well as guiding our young and old in their faith in God. He is a graduate of Concordia University Ann Arbor and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1987. Ask him about Ted Drewes and he’ll tell you about his favorite frozen custard!

Want to know more about God’s word? Join us for Services on Sundays at 9:30 AM and our Bible Classes and Sunday School at 11AM, and you will leave knowing more about us, and especially God’s Word!

St. Stephens will be hosting a new fundraiser for

The Ladder Community Center!

This summer, St. Stephens Lutheran Church will be hosting a fundraiser for The Ladder Community Center that involves local businesses, artists, ….and US!

Local businesses will be asked to donate funds to purchase an Adirondack Chair for a local artist to paint. The chairs will then be displayed at their businesses, with the artists information, as well as a “MAP” of where the chairs are displayed in the area, so those who would like to see all the chairs and visit the businesses will be able to follow the map.

Displaying the chairs will take place June through August, then the chairs will come to St. Stephens for an auction event.

Please keep us and this event in your prayers! If you know of a business that would be willing to sponsor a chair, please speak to Judy O. or Cheri B. or call the church office. We are hoping to not only provide some much needed tourism in the Shelby Area, but also meet new friends and spread the Gospel by connecting our congregation and website to this event! Our Guidelines

Artists are encouraged to create uplifting and family-friendly designs. To maintain a positive and inclusive event, we ask that no political, controversial, or divisive content be included in your artwork. The event organizers reserve the right to decline any submission that does not align with these guidelines. Chairs will be delivered to artists in April, and are due back to the church by May 20. Recent activities at St. Stephens

St. Stephens had a very blessed Christmas season! On December 15, we celebrated with a congregational luncheon, and fun was had by all!

Also, If you run across a “Little Jesus” pick him up and take him with you! If you’d like a “Little Jesus” feel free to stop by the church and pick one up. Click on the link at the top of the page and submit your picture of where your Little Jesus is going, or has been.

Because everybody needs a little Jesus!
